TAC's Performance Assurance Support Services group (PASS) monitors the performance of energy projects and provides assurance that the projects perform as promised. PASS also provides support to customers and their staff, offering training and answering questions about everything from equipment scheduling to project savings. Most importantly, PASS is focused on service. A PASS representative’s job is to make sure that a Performance Assurance Support Services customer gets what they want from their performance contract while minimizing TAC's risk.

More Precisely: Performance Assurance Support Services (PASS) takes over a project upon completion of installation. PASS consultants are responsible for the following:

  • System performance monitoring using software. PASS consultants will check facility schedules, switches and summaries in order to ensure that customers’ are operating their systems efficiently and will achieve their guaranteed savings. Remote monitoring capabilities also permit the PASS consultant to troubleshoot system difficulties and improve performance.
  • Periodic savings reports detailing a customer’s facility’s performance. Using Metrix energy accounting software and Excel spreadsheet software, the PASS consultant creates easy-to-read graphs and reports that show customers their financial and energy savings.
  • Technical support and warranty of EMS (Energy Management System). PASS consultants are available for support through a toll free line. On-site visits are necessary for initial customer training and to resolve service issues that can not be handled over the phone.
  • Annual Savings Guarantee Reconciliation Presentation. The presentation will update the customer on the actual energy savings achieved during the last guarantee period. The PASS consultant will discuss the guarantee savings, any adjustments that were made, and any shortfalls that may have occurred.

PASS offers more than just performance reporting. It provides customers with system monitoring, training, annual reconciliation presentations and reports, savings reports, assistance with ECMs, and remote support. PASS consultants serve as the first line of customer communication after the installation is complete.
